About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Design Lead to join our e-commerce agency team. This role involves leading design strategy and execution, managing multiple projects, mentoring a design team, and collaborating closely with clients and cross-functional partners to deliver user-focused, business-driven design solutions.

Requirements

5+ years of relevant design experience with at least 2 years focused on e-commerce website design.
Expert proficiency in Figma, Sketch and Adobe XD; intermediate skills in Photoshop and Illustrator.
Strong understanding of UX design, responsive and accessible design, CRO, and Shopify platform standards.
Experience building and maintaining design systems and component libraries.
Intermediate knowledge of motion graphics, animation, and email marketing campaigns.
Proven leadership skills in managing design team members, mentoring, and delegating work.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to present to clients and internal leadership.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with agile methodologies and sprint workflows is a plus.
Experience working collaboratively with developers, UX researchers, and content strategists.

Responsibilities

Transform client needs and challenges into persuasive design solutions with consultative presentations.
Identify and communicate design problems and propose creative, user- and business-focused solutions.
Apply expert knowledge of design principles, typography, color theory, and conversion rate optimization.
Utilize qualitative and quantitative research methods to inform design recommendations.
Incorporate motion graphics, animation, and email marketing design where applicable.
Articulate and negotiate design decisions with clients.
Manage design deliverables, including maintaining design systems and component libraries.
Participate actively in sprint ceremonies, prioritize tasks, and manage timelines across multiple projects.
Coordinate design hand-offs to development and quality assurance teams and support implementation.
Provide timely updates via project management tools and communicate effectively across teams.
Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of designers, including hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews.
Facilitate brainstorming sessions, workshops, and collaboration across disciplines.
Support project managers with design-related queries and estimations.
Demonstrate professionalism in meetings and communications, including punctuality, preparedness, and etiquette.
