About The Position

The Fuel Systems Design Release Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, advance product & quality planning (APQP), and production release of a system/component within Fuels Systems: Fuel/Urea Tanks, Fuel/Urea delivery modules, Vapor Canisters, Fuel lines, and Fuel Filters. The Fuel Systems Design Release Engineer will interact with suppliers and will work closely with internal and external groups such as, propulsion systems, engine calibration, vehicle program team, testing & prototype labs, CAE engineers, supplier operations and manufacturing plants. Other responsibilities will include developing and maintaining technical documentation and standards, collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, and promoting quality improvements including communicating technical product status to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering (or a related field) is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in English (write, listen, and speak) is a requirement.
  • BSME degree from an accredited university/or equivalent is preferred.
  • 2 years of design/development automotive engineering experience in Fuel Systems and Diesel/Urea Systems is preferred.
  • Self-starter with strong leadership, communication & organizational skills and demonstrated problem solving ability.
  • Will be required to drive a company car.
  • A valid driver’s license is required as well as a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive product engineering experience.
  • Injection molded/Blow, molded Fuel/Urea tank design.
  • Knowledge of Fuel/Urea Tanks, FDM, UDM, or Canister’s virtual simulations is highly recommended.
  • Fuel Delivery Module and/or Urea Delivery Module design is recommended.
  • Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).
  • Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Reactive Methodology, preferred Belt certification.
  • General understanding of fasteners/torque.
  • General understanding of GD&T.
  • General understanding of NX, Teamcenter, PLM.
  • Travel domestically and internationally up to 20%.
