About The Position

Pope Design Group is seeking a passionate and ambitious Intern that seeks to make a positive and impactful difference in our community through the spaces we create. We are a multi-disciplinary firm comprised of creative architects and interior designers, partnering with clients across the country. In this supporting position you will be working closely with project team members, along with an integrated team of design professionals developing design concepts into high quality documents for our clients. In order to maximize your learning potential, you will be present in the office 5 days a week to support a successful internship. In-House Team: All our market sectors practice broadly. This position will provide you an opportunity to collaborate with other professionals, gain valuable experience, utilize your creativity, and develop the skills for a successful career while working on a variety of assignments of various sizes and complexity. Team members can react positively to a variety of design priorities, styles, and project delivery methods.

Requirements

  • Working toward a Professional Degree in Architecture. Ideally looking for 3rd year student or upper level. Prior internship experience a plus.
  • Must be proficient in Revit and familiar with AutoCAD.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Works well both independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to take on additional responsibilities and manage priorities with guidance.
  • Open to constructive feedback and implements feedback into resolutions.
  • Committed to learning about the field of architecture and incorporating the knowledge into day-to-day business practices.
  • Understands the purpose and content of Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite software a plus.

Responsibilities

  • You will gain an understanding of the entire project process including coordination of documents, components of a CD package and basic construction methods.
  • Interns work under close supervision, assisting team members with design, compile data, participate in field verifications, and prepare documentation/plans and renderings.
  • Perform routine and limited architectural assignments.
  • Generate concepts based on project design goals and conducts material research under the direction of team members.
  • Assists with creating project renderings.
  • Uses the company’s established techniques, procedures, and equipment to prepare project documents.
  • The project team all work together on developing a positive relationship of trust with our clients and fostering a commitment to external and internal client service.
  • May work with project team members to attend client/consultant meetings and visit job sites with other members of the team.
