About The Position

The position involves configuring, installing, monitoring, and maintaining TIS users’ desktop software and hardware while providing advanced level support in these areas. The role includes consultation for TIS users regarding all aspects of end-user computing and desktop-based LAN systems software. The individual will provide advanced technical support and guidance through Tier 2 support and collaborate with vendors to resolve Tier 3 issues. Participation in projects is also a key aspect of this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Three or more years of hands-on experience with installing complex applications, hardware, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Microsoft and Personal Computer Certifications (A+, Network+, MCDST, MSP) or equivalent work experience; MSCE certification preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft desktop operating system/applications installation and support.
  • Experience on multiple platforms including networking concepts (LAN and WAN) and IS best practices.
  • PC Imaging experience required.
  • HP / Lexmark printer experience required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware malfunctions.
  • Ability to remain calm and productive in stressful situations.

Nice To Haves

  • HP Desktop and Laptop Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
  • Provide expert level support of all desktop and network hardware and software applications.
  • Conduct proactive and advanced troubleshooting and analysis.
  • Act as an expert information source on product evaluation, selection, deployment, and use.
  • Configure and install software on IS users’ desktop and laptop computers.
  • Install new computer hardware at users’ locations.
  • Provide analytical and technical expertise in the planning, design, and installation of new and existing desktop systems.
  • Evaluate, select, and utilize new support tools and applications to provide solutions to complex issues.
  • Understand interactions between technologies and applications across service lines.
  • Assist in technology strategic planning and budgeting.
  • Document solutions to problems and develop end-user guidelines.
  • Participate in testing and evaluation of new desktop packages.
  • Support mobile workforce.
  • Participate in on-call support rotation.
  • Coach and mentor others in their work efforts.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
