About The Position

We are seeking a Developer focused on application and data integrations to support and enhance the technology that powers our 600+ retail stores. This role combines software development with integration engineering, ensuring that data, systems, and applications across our merchandising, store, and enterprise platforms work seamlessly together. The Developer will collaborate with product owners and an agile development team to design, build, and support integration services, APIs, data-driven workflows, and cloud-based components. This position plays a critical role in our modernization efforts, including leveraging AI capabilities and secure coding best practices.

Requirements

  • 7 –10 years of experience in data integration or backend services development.
  • Experience building REST APIs, microservices, and event-based integrations.
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., C#, .NET, Java, Python).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud integration technologies, preferably Azure (Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Storage, API Management).
  • Proven ability to work with extensive SSIS catalogs including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and managing deployment/configuration complexities while also contributing to cloud migration initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of SQL and relational database concepts (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.).
  • Experience using AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to improve development quality and efficiency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to diagnose issues across applications, integrations, and data flows.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in Retail (Apparel Retail a plus).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps (CI/CD, Git, pipelines).
  • Exposure to enterprise data platforms such as Oracle, DB2, Snowflake, or other cloud data technologies.
  • Experience with integration patterns such as Pub/Sub, message queues, SOAP, or enterprise service buses.
  • Background developing or supporting merchandising, inventory, POS, or related retail systems.
  • Understanding of event-driven architecture and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain application and system integrations, including APIs, services, and event-driven processes.
  • Support data flows between merchandising systems, store applications, cloud services, and enterprise platforms.
  • Collaborate with product owners and business partners to analyze user stories and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Apply secure coding practices, performance optimization, and clean architecture principles.
  • Participate in the full SDLC, including development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Mentor other developers (local and offshore), fostering strong engineering practices.
  • Participate in AI‑driven transformation initiatives to improve team productivity and code quality.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose integration or application issues, ensuring system reliability and stability.
  • Maintain and enhance monitoring dashboards and provide support through on‑call rotation as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement in code quality, architecture, and processes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
