Expected Length of Internship: 3-6 month, preferably in summer of 2026. Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in physical science and engineering, including but not limited to physics, EE, chemistry, chemical engineering or materials science engineering. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in physical science and engineering, including but not limited to physics, EE, chemistry, chemical engineering or materials science engineering.
  • Wet chemistry and other chemical-related experience in an academic research lab setting
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards, and a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair) for those requiring respirator use.
  • All positions in our office require interaction with people and technology while either standing or sitting.
  • To best service our customers, internal and external, all associates must be able to communicate face-to-face and on the phone with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with vacuum equipment, glovebox and characterization tools in an academic research lab setting would be a plus.
  • Experience with optical imaging techniques such as optical microscopy and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy would be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Project: CdSeTe thin film growth process and use of characterization to understand the process.
  • Carry out solution prep, spin coating and execute thermal growth in a R&D specific oven.
  • Conduct optical microscopy and other optical and electrical measurements such as PL and hall measurement.
  • Analysis of obtained experimental data.
  • Upon the completion of this internship, the intern is required to present their accomplishments and project summary to the leadership team.
