About The Position

Join the Rescue Mission as a Development Intern and gain hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising while helping provide housing, meals, and essential services to those in need. This in-person internship is ideal for students looking to build skills in fundraising, donor engagement, administration, and event planning. The Impact You’ll Have Assist visitors and callers by answering questions and directing them to the appropriate department. Help secure funding that directly supports housing, meals, and essential services. Strengthen relationships with donors who make our mission possible. Contribute to events that raise critical funds and community awareness. Support storytelling efforts that inspire generosity.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; current college students preferred.
• Customer service skills, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and answer phone calls at the reception desk.
• Coordinate donor communications and engagement efforts.
• Support strategic fundraising initiatives and development campaigns.
• Assist with event planning and execution, including Rescue Mission 2026 events: Syracuse Mets 50/50 Raffle (Syracuse Mets Baseball Home Games) Ride and Run for the Rescue – July 18, 2026 (Saturday) Mission Possible Golf Tournament – August 3, 2026 (Monday) Hope Awards Gala – November 6, 2026 (Friday) Movie with a Mission – December 6, 2026 (Sunday)
• Provide administrative support and assist team members with projects.
• Follow the Rescue Mission’s Vision and Mission Statements and maintain a safety-first approach.
