CONTACT: Bela Delgado, 850-617-7437 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A high school or its equivalent and seven (7) years of professional or paraprofessional experience in marketing, advertising, public relations, agriculture, international affairs, leisure services, business or industry development, the travel industry or in hotel or restaurant management; or A bachelor's degree (4 years) from an accredited college or university with a major course of study in marketing, business, merchandising, economics, agriculture, international affairs, leisure services, or communications and three (3) years of professional experience in marketing, advertising, public relations, agriculture, international affairs, leisure services, business or industry development, the travel industry or in hotel or restaurant management; or A master's degree (6 years) from an accredited college or university with a major course of study in business administration and two (2) years of professional experience as described above. Responsibilities

Coordinate activities, events and award programs to promote the Florida Farm to School program and food recovery initiatives.
Facilitate relationships with growers and distributors and provide assistance to School Food Authorities (SFAs) to increase the procurement of Florida products.
Promote all division programs through outreach activities and events.
Coordinate regional meetings for school districts to discuss menuing for Farm to School program purchases.
Work to connect growers to school food service by helping schools identify product needs, volume and distributor requirements for use in NSLP.
Help schools with best management practices for working with distributors regarding Farm to School program purchases.
Provide technical assistance with procurement for the Farm to School program in schools on National School Lunch Program (NSLP) in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Develop reports on each school’s Farm to School program level of participation and progress of expansion.
Create targeted plans of action and execute plans for districts with low participation in the Farm to School program.
Coordinates the establishment of food recovery programs, including identifying suppliers, volunteers and nonprofit organizations interested in food recovery; facilitating initial meetings; and providing support as needed and available for inexperienced food recovery programs.
Develops and updates annually the public information brochure as required by statute.
Drafts and submits the report on food recovery programs to the Legislature by November 1 annually as required by statute.
Establishes and maintains a food recovery stakeholder network and database for outreach, communications and tracking the volume of produce recovered.
Establishes direct relationships with retailers, growers and nearby food recovery programs, school food service programs and emergency food providers to enhance the delivery of food donations.
Fosters relationships between existing emergency food providers, school food service programs, food recovery programs and growers to establish sustainable food recovery systems.
Conducts outreach to retailers and growers on behalf of food recovery programs as needed to facilitate the rescue of produce.
Coordinate special projects, such as Farm to School award program, grants, pilot projects, etc., and provide technical assistance and evaluation of potential pilot programs.
Attend events, meetings and conferences to promote division initiatives and programs.
Attend subject matter expert trainings.
Work with the outreach director to develop relationships with community partners, non-profits and governmental organizations directly related to agriculture and Farm to School program.
Serve as one of the liaisons to the National Farm to School Network and other state and national Farm to School organizations.
Complete monthly and quarterly reports, as needed.
Assist with the emergency management functions of the bureau during periods of disaster.
Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
