About The Position

Overview: The Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics includes a multidisciplinary staff consisting of nurses, medical assistants, social workers, and clerical support. The position includes teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students. This position requires an individual with excellence in clinical care and teaching. Minimum qualifications include an M.D. or D.O. degree, board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics and Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics and eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio. Candidates will be able to collaborate with faculty in the Division of Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics at Nationwide Children’s Hospital located in Columbus, Ohio. The division currently consists of 8 clinical faculty and 4 nurse practitioners who work closely with Pediatric Psychology and other disciplines to provide interprofessional care for children with a wide range of emotional, behavioral and developmental disorders. Areas of expertise include Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Down Syndrome, Myelomeningocele, William Syndrome, Neonatal Follow Up, and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The Child Development Center and Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders provide state of the art evaluation and treatment services for children with ASD and their families. The Division leads numerous quality improvement projects designed to improve clinical outcomes and reduce avoidable harm and is a member of the Autism Care Network (ACNet). Job Description Summary: Provides medical care and treatment to patients. Job Description: Essential Functions: Conducts patient assessments and diagnoses medical conditions. Develops and implements treatment plans for patients in accordance with established protocols. Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as necessary. Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment. Communicates with patients and their families to provide education and support. Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient and coordinates care with other healthcare professionals. Participates in the training and education of medical students, residents, and fellows as required. Stays up-to-date with medical advancements and research to provide the best possible care.

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree, required.
• Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics and Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics, required.
• Eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio, required.
• Medical License in the State of Ohio, required.
• Unrestricted licensed physician, required.
• Graduate of an approved Fellowship program if applicable, required.
• Prior clinical practice experience may be required based on the needs of the division.
