This role is designed for an individual who brings energy, a willingness to learn, and the capacity to quickly acquire new skills—someone we can develop to meet the evolving needs of our Central Engineering technology development teams. Performance Objectives Implement and validate advanced TCAD simulation models to support new Analoge and BCD power device projects, contributing to improved simulation efficiency and project outcomes and to reduce the existing gap between simulation and Silicon. Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and resolve reliability challenges in advanced BCD nodes , driving enhancements in device performance and manufacturability. Apply machine learning and AI-driven optimization methods to improve processes and device characteristics, supporting yield and uniformity improvements. Drive innovation by critically analyzing device performance data and implementing improvements to enhance reliability, yield, and manufacturability across advanced BCD power technologies. Contribute to the industry and elevate the company’s profile through high-quality publications and presentations at leading conferences . Demonstrate professional growth through active participation in key projects and, where appropriate, mentoring or supporting colleagues within the team. Participate in technology development workflows, helping to streamline qualification and release processes for new products.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a closely related technical field is required.
  • Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics , with particular focus on Analog and BCD power devices.
  • Direct experience using Synopsys TCAD simulation tools , including building, calibrating, and validating device models.
  • Hands-on experience and skills in performing electrical device characterization , along with strong data analysis abilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning , such as publishing technical papers or mentoring peers, is valued.

Nice To Haves

  • A PhD in one of these areas is strongly preferred .
  • Familiarity with deploying advanced machine learning methodologies (such as supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning) for predictive modeling, anomaly detection, and process optimization in semiconductor device engineering is highly valued.
  • Experience with AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), algorithm development for pattern recognition, and data-driven parameter extraction is considered a significant asset.
  • Expertise in leveraging neural networks, regression models, clustering algorithms, and automated feature selection to enhance device characterization, reliability analytics, and yield forecasting is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking in solving multifaceted device-related issues by systematically dissecting complex failure mechanisms, synthesizing insights from cross-functional data sources, and developing robust, innovative solutions that address both immediate and root causes. This approach ensures that challenges encountered in advanced BCD technologies are met with comprehensive strategies that enhance device reliability and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced machine learning and AI-driven optimization methods to device and process development, with a primary focus on using data-driven models to enhance device performance, improve process steps, and maximize yield and uniformity from early development through to production.
  • Analyze large and complex data-sets generated from new device development modules, using AI tools and statistical methods to extract actionable insights and design superior power devices.
  • Develop and improve Analoge and BCD power devices (CMOS, DMOS, BJT, Diodes, LDMOS,JFET,..) by integrating deep device physics understanding , practical characterization experience, and expertise in TCAD simulation tools.
  • Undertake comprehensive electrical and physical characterization of devices , gathering high-quality data to calibrate models, troubleshoot device behavior, and guide process refinements.
  • Build, validate, and rigorously calibrate TCAD simulation models , ensuring that their predictions are consistently within 5% of real silicon measurements to support reliable simulations for critical projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to directly address and resolve reliability issues in advanced BCD nodes, delivering measurable gains in device manufacturability and performance.
  • Lead or contribute to internal workshops and training sessions, focusing on TCAD simulation, device operation, advanced characterization, and process optimization to strengthen team expertise .
  • Evaluate device performance data with a critical eye, recommending and implementing specific improvements that boost reliability, yield, and production quality for advanced BCD technologies.
  • Raise the company’s technical profile through well-regarded technical papers and industry presentations .
