Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 3+ years of combined software development and Linux administration.
  • Experience with at least one high-level programming language (C, C++, Python, etc.) and shell scripting.
  • Strong proficiency in Linux hardening (SELinux, GRUB security, filesystem encryption) and STIG implementation.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker/Podman) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins).
  • U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret Security clearance and ability to maintain required clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Ansible, Puppet, or Chef for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) preferred.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD-approved baseline certification preferred.
  • Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CASP+, or CompTIA Linux+ are a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of the core embedded application, ensuring high performance and reliability within Linux-based environments.
  • Serve as the primary technical lead for implementing and maintaining STIG compliance for the application and its host OS.
  • Develop and maintain automated configuration management scripts (e.g., Ansible, Chef, or Bash) to ensure development and production environments remain compliant and reproducible.
  • Integrate security scanning, automated testing, and compliance checks into the software build and deployment pipeline.
  • Support CMMC and ATO (Authority to Operate) efforts by maintaining technical documentation and evidence of security control implementation in coordination with the ISSM.
  • Provide direct IT support to software developers and engineers, including troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and development environment issues.
  • Support software configuration management practices and coordinate with developers on build, test, and deployment infrastructure needs.
  • Resolve hardware and software problems, plan upgrades, and collaborate with engineers on system and network optimization.
  • Other duties as assigned.
