About The Position

The Diagnostic Imaging Operations Coordinator provides operational leadership and systems oversight for the hospital’s diagnostic imaging service line. This role integrates clinical imaging expertise with imaging informatics, workflow optimization, and cross-departmental coordination to ensure high-quality, efficient, and technology-enabled radiology services. The Coordinator serves as the operational liaison between radiologists, veterinary technicians, hospital IT, and administrative leadership, ensuring seamless imaging delivery across all modalities.

Requirements

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT) or equivalent credential (as applicable by state).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in veterinary diagnostic imaging.
  • Experience with digital radiography and advanced imaging modalities.
  • Working knowledge of PACS systems and DICOM workflows.
  • Strong organizational and cross-functional communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CT/MRI workflow management and system integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily workflow for radiography, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and fluoroscopy.
  • Coordinate case scheduling, triage prioritization, and modality utilization.
  • Ensure adherence to radiation safety standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor image quality control and acquisition standards.
  • Support sedation/anesthesia workflow coordination for advanced imaging studies.
  • Administer Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and related imaging software platforms.
  • Maintain DICOM integrity, exam labeling accuracy, and image archival standards.
  • Manage user permissions, system access, and workflow configuration.
  • Serve as liaison with PACS/RIS vendors for upgrades and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with IT on system integrations between EMR, billing, and imaging platforms.
  • Support interface management (HL7/DICOM) and troubleshoot workflow disruptions.
  • Develop and monitor imaging performance dashboards.
  • Ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in cybersecurity and data protection protocols.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs for imaging workflows.
  • Lead training initiatives for imaging best practices.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure standards and efficiency.
  • Support accreditation readiness and regulatory inspections.
  • Assist with capital planning for imaging equipment upgrades.
  • Contribute to ROI analysis for new modalities or system enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve throughput and optimize staffing.
