DIS is seeking a Full-Time Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray Technologist) to support the VA Portland Health Care System. Shift Availability: Full-Time – 80 hours per pay period Shifts may include: 8-hour shifts (5 days/week) 9-hour rotating shifts 10-hour shifts (4 days/week) Rotating weekends and Federal Holidays required Overtime may be authorized Period of Performance: Base Year: June 1, 2026 – May 31, 2027 Up to four option if interested in years through May 31, 2031

Requirements

  • ARRT (R) certification required
  • Active Oregon license (or ability to obtain)
  • Minimum three (3) years recent radiography experience in hospital setting
  • Current BLS certification
  • Knowledge of radiation safety standards
  • Experience with digital radiography and PACS
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to pass VA credentialing and background check

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex radiographic procedures
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging
  • Adjust ionizing radiation factors for accurate diagnosis
  • Protect patients and staff from radiation hazards
  • Conduct portable radiography throughout the medical center
  • Maintain proper infection control procedures
  • Ensure image quality and proper patient identification
  • Enter required documentation into VA systems
  • Communicate effectively with Radiologists and care teams
  • Maintain equipment readiness and report malfunctions
  • Support after-hours diagnostic needs when assigned
