About The Position

1 Resource Group is recruiting for a skilled Field Service Diesel Mechanic to join a national family-owned company in the New Orleans, LA area. This position offers an exciting opportunity for those who enjoy working on diverse heavy equipment and traveling to various client sites. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of heavy construction equipment including bulldozers, forklifts, excavators, cranes, and loaders. Requirements

Minimum of four years’ experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and electrical components (AC/DC).
Ability to read and comprehend technical documentation and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Must possess strong communication and customer service skills.
Physical ability to lift, climb, and work in various weather conditions.
Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as business needs require.
Must provide own basic tools; larger equipment will be supplied.
A valid driver's license and clean driving record are essential for this role.
Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check to ensure insurability on company vehicles.

Nice To Haves

Welding and rigging experience is a plus.
Hands-on experience with various types of heavy machinery (e.g., cranes, hydraulic winches) preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough diagnostics to identify issues within heavy equipment.
Perform repairs and replace parts as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
Execute preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Utilize electronic diagnostic tools for precision repairs.
