About The Position
Reyes Fleet Management, 1 of the largest privately held fleets in the U.S., is seeking a Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician A to help with the repairs and maintenance of our tractor and trailer equipment at our Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling shop in Downey. You will also be working on our light duty vans (Ford and Chevy) and MHE equipment. Shift: Full-Time l Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 3:00pm-11:30pm OR Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday 3:00pm-11:30pm Pay: $43.14/hr Perks and Benefits: Union benefits plus pension Vacation and sick time, holiday pay Tool and Boot allowance Company provided uniforms CDL and ASE certifications incentive pay Annual raises Career advancement opportunities after 6 months of employment Health, dental, and vision coverage including multiple medical plans to choose from.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 2 to 4 years of related experience
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, occasionally lift 100 pounds
- Must possess own tools (have minimum tool requirement)
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles

Responsibilities
- The Fleet Technician is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and overhaul of fleet diesel equipment, as well as the diagnostics and rebuilding of clutches and brake systems
- As a Fleet Technician, you will complete thorough documentation for work orders related to repairs and preventative maintenance using the online AssetWorks system
- You will operate a company vehicle to diagnose and repair equipment as part of roadside service calls
- You will ensure that equipment has the required licensing and registration before being deemed "roadworthy"
- You will install, replace, and repair onboard computers (XRS or XataNet) and/or cameras (DriveCam)
- You will work in accordance with company, local, state, and federal policies and regulations to ensure safety
- Other duties as assigned
