About The Position

As a valued member of our team, the Maintenance Truck Tech II is required to perform all duties of a level 1, in addition to perform basic to mid-level repair skills on at least 80% of all vehicle areas including hydraulic systems, engine and transmission accessories. Effective skills in welding, use of torch and A/C systems. Not including electronic or high-level diagnostics and repairs on all vehicle areas; also, not including internal component repairs of engine, transmissions, and gear boxes. Shift Tuesday - Saturday 10:00 am- 6:30 pm. Occasional overtime may be required as needed. Able to use compressed gas torch and adjustments.         Effectively do inspections and mechanical repairs to equipment and routine preventive services. Efficient communication and computer skills for proper file documentation on each job performed.  Knowledge and ability to identify the proper name of all visible parts and non-visible parts in a vehicle.     Maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all maintenance. Will maintain appropriate record keeping for Bit inspections, DVIRs, work done description and work orders.                 Ensures vehicles meet CHP/BIT/PM inspection requirements. Replace, install and service brake systems, cab and sheet metal components, engine accessories, HVAC systems, hydraulic systems, and lighting electrical systems.                                           Replace, install and service mixer truck equipment, product transfer systems, starting systems, steering systems, transmissions, wheels, hubs, and bearings.         Replace, install frame components and basic diagnose of electronic control systems.                         Replace, install, service and diagnose charging systems, clutches and drive lines, and suspensions systems.  Will inspect and identify vehicle conditions on different types of equipment such as tractors, trailers, or mixers. Will install, select, or identify proper tire replacements & legal limit knowledge. Complete all maintenance duties as assigned, and repair all equipment on property including, but not limited to, diesel, plant, or yard equipment.  Perform routine and preventive maintenance to keep vehicles and equipment in compliance with DOT and company standards. Non-Essential Duties: Efficient organizational skills for scheduling and periodization of jobs. Will prepare metal surfaces and welding techniques to complete assigned tasks.  Tracks and schedules with operations or manager on vehicles status and updates. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • 3+ years of heavy-duty tractor maintenance experience.
  • 3+ years experience of work on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Must have own tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree, technical school certificate or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of heavy-duty tractor maintenance experience.
  • 4+ years experience of work on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • 2+ years experience welding.
