Requirements

  • Experience: 6 months to 1 year in a food service establishment and/or healthcare food service establishment.
  • Attention to detail, particularly concerning dietary needs and meal orders.
  • Compassionate and patient when interacting with elderly residents and their families.
  • Ability to lift and carry between 50 to 75 pounds and manage exposure to varied temperatures and humidity.

Nice To Haves

  • ServSafe certification or equivalent preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with food preparation under the guidance of the Cook or Assistant Director of Dining Services.
  • Prepare beverages, cereals, breads, salads, and desserts based on planned menus and diet cards.
  • Set up meal carts and maintain cleanliness in kitchen, storage, and dishwashing areas.
  • Operate the dishwasher and manage heavy dish racks.
  • Record and monitor dish machine temperatures.
  • Store food and supplies appropriately, ensuring everything is labeled and dated.
  • Stock and clean diet kitchens, cabinets, and refrigerators.
  • Prepare the staff dining room for meals and replenish supplies.
