About The Position

The Dietary Aide at Marion Assisted Living is responsible for assisting with food preparation, meal service, and kitchen sanitation to ensure residents receive nutritious, appealing meals in a safe and welcoming environment. This role supports the dietary team in maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and customer service while following all health and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities Assist with preparation of meals and snacks as directed by the cook or dietary manager Set up dining areas and serve meals to residents in a courteous and respectful manner Follow portion control guidelines and special diet instructions Deliver trays to resident rooms when required Ensure proper food temperatures and safe food handling practices Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, dining areas, and food service equipment Stock food, supplies, and beverages as needed Dispose of trash and maintain a clean and organized work area Follow all facility policies and procedures, including infection control and sanitation guidelines Report any dietary, safety, or equipment concerns to the supervisor promptly Interact with residents in a friendly, patient, and professional manner Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous food service experience preferred, especially in healthcare or senior living Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Strong teamwork and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Compassionate and service-oriented attitude toward residents Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Frequent bending, lifting, and carrying (up to 40 pounds) Ability to push and pull carts and equipment Tolerance for working in a warm, fast-paced kitchen environment Work Schedule Full-time position Includes weekends and holidays as scheduled Shifts may vary based on facility needs Work Environment Commercial kitchen and dining room setting Exposure to hot surfaces, sharp objects, and cleaning chemicals Fast-paced, team-oriented environment focused on resident satisfaction and safety Essential Values Treats residents with dignity and respect Demonstrates reliability and strong work ethic Maintains a positive attitude and willingness to help others Committed to providing a pleasant dining experience for residents Marion Assisted Living is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating a supportive environment for residents and staff alike. Requirements
