Regency Oaks is recruiting for a hospitality focused Dietary-Cook to join our Health Center Culinary team! This is a full-time position that may include holidays and weekends. The health center Cook is responsible for full-scope, hands on cooking while maintaining a superior level of quality service and cleanliness at all times. Perk with this position include no late nights! Location: Clearwater, FL Schedule: FRI - TUE 11:00am-7:30pm Rate: $17/hour

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in food service operations of a health care setting.
  • Certified in safety and sanitation regarding food service.
  • Experience in a long-term health care environment.
  • Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and subordinates.
  • Ability to interpret and explain menus, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background screening process in the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) in compliance with applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing all menus and standardized recipes for Health Center residents assessing preferences and nutritional needs.
  • Determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus, placing food orders and seeing that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production.
  • Responsible for adhering to food quality, appearance and presentation standards at all times.
  • Exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of cooking preparation and production.
  • Responsible for completion of hall trays and accuracy.
  • Contacts the dietitian if unplanned or special therapeutic diets are ordered.
  • Assures that meal tallies are accurate on a daily basis.
  • Visit residents periodically to evaluate food service such as quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance; and conduct evaluations to make revisions in operations / procedures to promote improved food service.
