About The Position

EMPACT- Suicide Prevention Center, part of the La Frontera family, is an industry leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing valued community services and resources for behavioral health counseling, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention since 1987. We are an EEO/AA Employer.

The Dietician will provide consultation services to food service staff in order to meet the nutritional and dietary needs of the individuals served at Rio de Vida (Mesa) and Estrella de Vida (Phoenix). This is a contract position for up to 10 hours per month.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition required.
• Licensure as a registered Dietician is required.
• Attention to detail and strong organization skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and positive working relationships with internal and external team members, stakeholders, and community and business partners.
• Demonstrated ability to remain calm in crisis situations, work independently and cooperatively, recognize personal limitations, and relate positively and with empathy to all persons regardless of age, race, creed, gender, or sexual orientation.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of 1 year experience in institutional food services oversight preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet with the food services teams monthly to collaborate, review menus, and offer feedback.
• Provide feedback to submitted menus within 72 hours.
• Be available by phone within 24 hours if urgent consultation related to dietary restrictions or food substitution is needed.
• Maintain record of trainings and approved menus for a minimum of 12 months.
• Attend meetings, trainings, and agency activities and events upon request.
