About The Position

Centurion Health is proud to be the provider of comprehensive healthcare services to the Georgia Department of Corrections. We are currently seeking a Part Time Registered Dietitian to join our team at Augusta State Medical Prison (ASMP) in Augusta, Georgia. Position Summary The Registered Dietitian is responsible for the clinical oversight, coordination, and evaluation of nutrition care services for patients within a correctional healthcare setting. This role supports the promotion of health, management of chronic conditions, and compliance with all applicable clinical and regulatory standards. The Dietitian works collaboratively with medical, nursing, and food service teams to ensure patients receive appropriate, evidence-based nutritional care across a medically complex population. Success in this role means driving consistent, compliant care across a complex patient population.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field from an accredited program (Master’s preferred)
  • Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia (LD)
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in hospital, long-term care, or similar setting
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current tuberculosis screening in accordance with company policy
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and obtain security clearance

  • Correctional healthcare experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Provide medical nutrition therapy for chronic and acute conditions (e.g., diabetes, renal disease, hypertension)
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as clinically indicated
  • Collaborate with providers and nursing staff to ensure appropriate diet orders and therapeutic diets
  • Review and approve special diet requests and modifications
  • Provide nutrition education to patients and healthcare staff
  • Partner with food service operations to ensure compliance with prescribed diets and nutritional standards
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and compliance activities
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Support regulatory readiness (ACA, NCCHC, OHS) and internal audit processes
