The DMA stretches across the state line into portions of east Alabama and Auburn University. With a staff of 40+ news professionals, we broadcast more than 4 hours of news each day on WTVM and provide news for WXTX, the area's FOX affiliate & WLTZ, the area's NBC affiliate. WTVM-TV is searching for a producer to discover, create, and distribute content across our stations' various digital platforms. The ideal candidate will be able to embrace a multi-platform workflow within a dynamic newsroom setting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, or related field.
  • Demonstrated mastery of digital and social media strategy.
  • Excellent time management skills and an ability to prioritize tasks and information under pressure are required.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have scheduling flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Write original stories for the station's digital platforms.
  • Co-produce content with newsroom employees across multiple platforms.
  • Use digital metrics and analytics to adjust and maximize newsroom digital strategies.
  • Monitor and produce content on the station's website, apps, and social media pages.
  • Edit video and photos for digital stories.
  • Collaborate with newsroom employees to create the best user experience for station viewers.
