About The Position

Role Specifics (in compliance with Department of Labor FLSA policies): - Position: Digital Evangelization Specialist - Status: Exempt, 12 month full time - Supervisor: Director of Communications - Faith: The Digital Evangelization Specialist is a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church. Passionate and knowledgeable about the Catholic faith and evangelization. Essential Job Functions: - The Digital Evangelization Specialist will: o Lead the curation, development, and presentation of compelling digital content that brings to life the beauty, goodness, and truth of the Catholic faith. o Collaborate with other internal and external stakeholders to foster a digital strategy that drives engagement of Catholics with this content. o Contribute content focused on the pastoral priorities of the Diocese as articulated in its strategic plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in media studies, graphic design, advertising, communications, or related field.
  • 2+ years of work experience in communications or evangelization.
  • Professional experience in content creation, social media, and digital marketing. Possess a good understanding of the full range of digital communication platforms and cross-platform optimization. Has an eye toward future/developing platforms.
  • Has a basic understanding of photography.
  • General knowledge of SEO, including current trends and upcoming developments.
  • General familiarity with the array of Catholic Church messaging, including Vatican-related, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), and other magisterial resources, along with more popular sources in accord with Church teaching.
  • A forward-looking strategic change agent with an insatiable curiosity for learning. Must be a creative problem-solver. Challenges self and others to reach higher levels of achievement.
  • Has a vision and passion for audience engagement. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. An engaging storyteller.
  • Strong leader who can execute on-strategy, build buy-in from others, and translate vision into results. Consistently strives for executional excellence.

  • Understands contracts, libel implications, copyright law, and intellectual property requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred applicants will be proficient in: Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canva, Adobe InDesign, Adobe PremierePro.
  • Fluent in English (and Spanish is helpful).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the curation, development, and presentation of compelling digital content that brings to life the beauty, goodness, and truth of the Catholic faith.
  • Collaborates with other internal and external stakeholders to support digital evangelization efforts across all departments in the Pastoral Center.
  • Collaborates with parishes to assist in widening their digital footprints – including social media and website presences.
