About The Position

As a Digital Forensic Examiner, you will be responsible for conducting forensic examinations involving the collection, processing, analysis, interpretation, and preservation of digital evidence in support of intelligence operations, network vulnerability mitigation, and a variety of investigative activities. You will use industry-standard forensic tools to examine digital media, identify relevant evidence, and document findings in clear technical products and reports.

Requirements

  • An active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
  • Eight (8) years of experience conducting forensic examinations that include the collection, processing, analysis, interpretation, and preservation of digital evidence in support of network vulnerability mitigation, intelligence operations, and different types of investigations.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university. A master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with forensic tools such as Cellebrite, EnCase, Axiom, XRY, Forensic Toolkit (FTK), and X-Ways.
  • Understanding of managing complex large data set analysis.
  • Understanding of steganography and encryption detection and analysis.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • At least one (1) year of experience managing and leading DNA lab personnel and procedures.
  • Must pass a comprehensive medical assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct forensic examinations involving the collection, processing, analysis, interpretation, and preservation of digital evidence.
  • Examine digital devices and media in support of network vulnerability mitigation, intelligence operations, and investigative requirements.
  • Utilize forensic tools such as Cellebrite, EnCase, Axiom, XRY, FTK, and X-Ways to perform examinations and extract relevant evidence.
  • Analyze complex and large data sets to identify relevant findings, artifacts, and investigative leads.
  • Identify and assess steganography and encryption techniques, including detection and analysis methods.
  • Document forensic processes, findings, and conclusions in technical reports and case documentation.
  • Support technical discussions and provide input on forensic findings, methodologies, and recommendations.
  • Use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook to prepare products, communicate findings, and support mission execution.
  • Support the management and leadership of DNA lab personnel and procedures, as required.
