About The Position

The Instructional Design & Digital Learning Assistant supports the digital learning environment by managing and formatting course content in Canvas (including graphics and instructional copy), providing essential front-line technical support to students (enrollment, access troubleshooting), and assisting in the creation of new digital learning assets (videos, self-paced materials). This role ensures the online platform is technically accessible and the content is professional and engaging.

Requirements

  • An associate’s degree completed or in process is preferred, focusing on marketing, communications, or English. Or, equivalent hands-on work experience in the curriculum or graphic design arena.
  • 3 years of combined education and experience with proven skills in CRM, digital platform, or graphic design industry.
  • Strong writing skills, content editing, and attention to detail to consistently meet high standards of excellence.
  • Some graphic design exposure.
  • Demonstrated team-oriented and self-motivated experiences.
  • Exceptional communication skills and proven ability to network.
  • Experience in an independent environment to proactively troubleshoot and manage assigned projects.
  • Expert capabilities on both Mac and PC platforms.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook.
  • Must be Internet and social media savvy.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain current in latest social media platforms and online technologies to effectively apply new work methods and techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and interact in a collaborative team environment in which members respect and partner with each other to achieve results.

Responsibilities

  • Update and format courses in Canvas each semester, ensuring accuracy and consistency, and course graphic designs.
  • Draft student-facing learning guides, welcome messages, course descriptions, and instructional copy.
  • Help develop storytelling or thematic elements that make courses more engaging.
  • Serve as Canvas tech support with students to access digital platforms and email.
  • Notify and instruct students about enrollment periods which include creating email logon credentials, etc.
  • Assist with the digital learning design of self-paced courses.
  • Create simple instructional videos, micro-learning clips, or demo walkthroughs for adult learners.
  • Help design onboarding materials and welcome packets to improve student experience.
  • Contribute to creating a warm, supportive online learning community.
  • Draft monthly or quarterly student newsletters with tips, reminders, and updates.
  • Assist with continuing education webinar production, rehearsals, and technical setup to ensure smooth, professional delivery.
  • Use Canva or other design software for basic graphic and video creation.
  • Assist with other departmental writing/design projects as needed.
  • Manage multiple projects and independently prioritize tasks.
  • Regular and reliable attendance at the worksite and adhere to assigned schedule.
  • Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements including all safety guidelines
  • Utilize electronic time management system to input time, attendance and paid time off request.
