About the position

ETSU's Office of Academic Technology Support is seeking a Digital Marketing Strategist to join its dynamic team. The Digital Marketing Strategist is responsible to the Manager of Marketing for Online Programs for developing and executing a comprehensive, data-informed digital marketing strategy to support the goals of Information Technology Services (ITS) and ETSU Online. The position will plan and implement creative, audience-specific content for the ETSU Online website and social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. It will support the management of paid campaigns using tools such as Meta Business Suite and Google Ads. The role also requires proficiency in identifying optimal marketing channels, evaluating performance metrics, generating insights from analytics platforms, and translating those insights into actionable strategies. This position works closely with others in ITS to develop and implement strategies to increase enrollment in online course and program offerings. It plays a key role in contributing to ITS communication and content creation efforts, requiring strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Success in this position depends on effective communication and storytelling, as well as the ability to work collaboratively, maintain a consistent brand voice, tailor messaging for diverse audiences, and adapt to evolving needs.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, digital marketing, public relations, communications, journalism, English, or related field.
  • Two to three years of work-related experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing content on social media channels.
  • Demonstrated professional experience developing and executing social media ad campaigns and audience targeting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in relevant field preferred.
  • Experience working in higher education preferred.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and website traffic analysis tools preferred.
