About The Position

This is a student volunteer experience position. Volunteer experience participants receive stipend payments. As a member of the PIYN Team, the digital storyteller (or storytellers) will photo and video document this pre-orientation experience for incoming first-year and transfer students, including supporting live and asynchronous social media postings. The digital storyteller will curate images and produce and present a slideshow. This position (or positions) will work alongside PIYN Coordinators and under the guidance and support of the Program Manager for Community Partnerships.

Requirements

  • Available to return to campus one week prior to Orientation
  • Available to attend related trainings or orientations
  • Available full days in lead up to and including the PIYN Experience (August 17-21)
  • Responsible and dependable.
  • Personable, welcoming, and hospitable.
  • Strong work ethic, and ability to take initiative.
  • Current Driver’s License and ability to drive University of Portland vehicles.
  • Ability and willingness to take direction, if needed.
  • Ability and comfort working in collaboration with another digital storyteller, if applicable.
  • Experience with digital media, cameras, etc.
  • Experience creating slideshows.
  • Commitment to engaging Moreau Center Core Commitments throughout the PIYN Experience
