About The Position

Martha Jefferson House, a premier nonprofit assisted living and long-term care community, is seeking a Part-Time Day Shift Dining Aide to join our dedicated dietary services team. This position plays an important role in supporting meal service and creating a welcoming dining experience for residents. The Dining Aide works closely with the kitchen and care teams to ensure residents receive nutritious meals in a clean, respectful, and service-focused environment. Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
Strong attention to cleanliness and food service standards
Friendly and respectful communication with residents and staff
Dependable attendance and punctuality
Ability to stand, walk, and lift items related to food service duties

Responsibilities

Serving residents in the dining rooms and delivering trays to resident apartments as needed
Preparing beverages including tea, coffee, juices, and nutritional supplements
Setting up trays and preparing food carts for the Health Care Center
Portioning desserts and salads as assigned
Wrapping silverware and preparing dining areas for service
Assisting with special meals and social dining occasions
Delivering supplemental feedings to nursing stations
Cleaning tray line and dining areas after meals
Collecting and transporting trays to dish room
Scraping and washing dishes using mechanical dishwasher
Cleaning kitchen and dining equipment including carts, coffee urns, and food service tables
Sweeping and mopping floors
Stocking food, paper products, and supplies
Removing trash and maintaining a clean work environment
Assisting the cook with food preparation when needed
Maintaining courteous and respectful interactions with residents at all times
Supporting additional duties that contribute to the efficiency of the dietary department
