About The Position

This position assists with the supervision/management of the floor during meal periods by directing student employees and assisting as needed. This position reports to the location Production Chef and works closely with the dining team to ensure a quality dining experience. THe person in this role ensures that there is sufficient coverage and oversees all logistics in the FOH service and the efficient operation of the dish room WORK SCHEDULE This position will work on the St. Paul campus in one of our cafeteria style dining halls and is expected to work primarily a mid-shift, working Tuesday through Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Schedules are always based on business needs and could include occasional nights and weekends.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three years of food service or restaurant experience to include at least one years of experience supervising employees
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques
  • Knowledge of the use of kitchen equipment
  • Knowledge of basic measurements
  • Knowledge of food safety techniques
  • Knowledge of food service operations
  • Must be ServSafe certified or able to acquire certification with the state of Minnesota within six months of employment (expenses towards certifications will be covered by the University)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a hotel, restaurant, or a college/university dining services
  • Supervisory experience
