About The Position

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Dining Services Worker A for Dining Services. Among the key duties of this positions are the following: Guides and instructs a group of Dining Services Workers in the performance of general and specialized food handing, dish room operations, and the maintenance of sanitary cash ops/dining Halls. Provides dining room services, including cash register duties. Performs any duties of the group.   • Previous experience in a fine dining environment
  • Bar tending
  • Guiding and training wait staff
  • Cashiering and cash handling
  • Knowledge of Aloha or other POS
  • Cash and credit card handling
  • Experience in restaurant and banquets: reception, tableside service, a-la-carte service
  • Proven ability to set up a buffet
  • Bar service knowledge, basic wine, spirits and cocktail knowledge
  • Ability to understand and gather equipment needs based on EventMaster packing lists
  • Phone and in-person customer service
  • Ability to take reservations and decide locations to sit guests based on floor plan assignments.
