About The Position

Dining Services employees support the daily operations of the campus dining center by preparing and serving food, maintaining high standards of quality, and ensuring strict adherence to safety and sanitation guidelines. The role requires strong motivation, customer service skills, and the ability to follow simple recipes while working in a fast‑paced environment under direct supervision. Staff assist Lead Cooks, stock food lines, and perform cleaning and dishwashing tasks across rotating morning and evening shifts. Live and work in a beautiful mountain valley for the summer and/or fall season at the Mountain Campus. Be part of a small community of staff working towards a common goal to serve the Education, Research, and Outreach missions at Colorado State University. Enjoy the mountain lifestyle – hiking, fishing, mountain biking, trail running, rock climbing, or lounging in a hammock with a good book – when you are “off-the-clock”. We have summer, fall, and full season positions open. (Summer season: Mid-May through Mid-August Fall season: Mid-August to Mid-October) A few items to be aware of in regard to these positions are: Located 53 miles west of Fort Collins at 9,000 feet in a remote mountain valley. Housing and 3 meals daily provided as part of the compensation package. Requirements

  • Will be 18 years of age upon or before the first day of employment.
  • Staff must be able to lift and move objects up to 40 lbs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team collaborative team member

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, serve, and present food according to established recipes, quality standards, and sanitation policies.
  • Assist Lead Cooks with food production, stocking serving lines, and maintaining an efficient workflow.
  • Provide friendly, consistent customer service in a busy dining environment.
  • Perform cleaning and dishwashing tasks, including sanitizing equipment, work areas, and the dining center.
  • Support limited catering operations by helping with setup, service, and cleanup as assigned.
