About The Position

DEFINITION The Shell Room Robot Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring robotic systems used in the shell-building process for investment casting. This role ensures the consistent application of ceramic slurry and stucco layers on wax patterns, maintaining quality standards and production efficiency. SUPERVISION RECEIVED This position reports directly to the Shell Room Supervisor SUPERVISION EXERCISED This position will not have any direct reports ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION - NOTE: An employee assigned to this title shall perform a majority, but may not perform all, of the duties listed in this job description. Conversely, minor level duties performed on the job may not be listed. Work in a safe manner with a goal of zero harm. Operate robotic shell-building equipment to apply slurry and stucco coatings on wax patterns. Load and unload wax patterns onto robotic arms and conveyors according to production schedules. Monitor robotic operations to ensure proper coating thickness, coverage, and drying times. Perform routine checks and adjustments on robotic systems to maintain optimal performance. Inspect shells for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards. Maintain accurate production records and report any equipment malfunctions or process deviations. Assist in troubleshooting and minor maintenance of robotic equipment. Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams for process improvements. Perform autoclave de-waxing operations. Ensure proper execution of policies and procedures within areas of responsibility. Must have good attendance and be reliable. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and senior managers, as well as employees.
Ability to operate a computer and secure information from established data processing, spreadsheet, word processing, database and graphics programs.
Ability to express ideas and communicate orally and in writing. Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
Understanding of applicable plant equipment and production process.

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to one hundred (50) pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee must be able to be walking or standing for up to twelve (12) hours.
