About The Position

Empowered Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team. In this role, you will build meaningful relationships that inspire confidence, promote independence, and support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living fulfilling, joyful lives. As a DSP, you will work one-on-one with each customer to understand their unique needs, support them in achieving their goals, and provide care in a positive, encouraging, and safe environment. Our DSPs serve not only as caregivers but also as mentors, advocates, and trusted companions for the individuals we support. 372: We are looking for a thoughtful, engaged, and respectful Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a customer in Forest Grove who enjoys antiquing, thrifting, local walks around town, and community outings like attending the Oregon Symphony and Comicon. If you love exploring hidden gems, strolling through town, and sharing good conversation with someone who has a sarcastic, dry sense of humor then this could be a great match for you. This customer is very chill overall, enjoys joking around, and values authenticity. They appreciate a provider who works alongside them rather than directing them. They are looking for someone who actively participates, engages, and builds a genuine working relationship. Mutual respect and collaboration are important. A provider who is comfortable using general pronouns or simply asking how they would like to be referred to each day will be the best fit. Flexibility, open-mindedness, and strong communication skills are essential. There may be occasional last-minute cancellations if the customer isn’t feeling well, so adaptability is appreciated. If you are patient, emotionally intelligent, have a good sense of humor, and enjoy being active in the community rather than sitting on the sidelines, we would love to connect with you.
