About The Position

We are seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who values people for who they are and is excited to walk alongside adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they engage in the activities they love and pursue their goals. The work schedule is : Sat & Sun 9a-11p, Fri 3-11p A Day in the Life: You’ll spend your days supporting a group of fun, vibrant people who are active and enjoy: Numerous Special Olympics sports which require driving over the Bay Bridge Playing board games, Arts & Crafts, and gardening. Going to concerts and dances. Who want to learn to cook. Family is very important to them, and the families are very involved. Decorating and planning for the holidays This group is looking for someone who is kind, dependable, a good communicator, and most of all—someone who enjoys spending time with them. If you’re someone who takes joy in building real connections and being present in the moment, you’ll thrive here. How You’ll Support: Help individuals live independently by assisting with cooking, cleaning, laundry, and taking medication Support community engagement, whether that’s a walk in the park, attending local events. Be a steady presence in important moments—family visits, milestones, or just a shared cup of coffee Advocate for each person’s rights and help build their confidence and sense of self Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points
  • Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed
  • Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete)

Responsibilities

  • Help individuals live independently by assisting with cooking, cleaning, laundry, and taking medication
  • Support community engagement, whether that’s a walk in the park, attending local events.
  • Be a steady presence in important moments—family visits, milestones, or just a shared cup of coffee
