About The Position

Jill’s House is a Christian non-profit organization and auxiliary ministry of McLean Bible Church called by God to love families raising children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 6-22) toward Jesus by providing them with short-term, overnight respite care and holistic family support services. We seek to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed to all our constituencies. We will be serving kids with intellectual disabilities in the greater Seattle/Tacoma Washington area. We are looking to grow our Direct Support Professional staff with great people to work weekends caring for children with special needs so that their parents and caregivers get time to focus on renewing themselves, their families, and their marriages. Although we do not run every weekend, there are many weekends throughout the year available for you to join us (frequency varies). The Direct Support Professional joins us all weekend at camp from Friday to Sunday and is responsible for: The guidance and supervision of the children to whom they are assigned. Performing a combination of basic care, assistance with activities of daily living and activity guidance duties in safe, nurturing environment. During our camp weekends you will be assisting our campers in activities such as, hiking, low ropes courses, swimming, craft time and even S’mores!

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 and be a high school graduate or GED.
  • At least three months successful experience in working directly with children.
  • Patience, good oral and written communication skills.
  • Great team skills, willingness to learn and grow.
  • Passion for working with children, physical strength and stamina to participate in camp activities.
  • Affirm the McLean Bible Church Vision and Values statement as well as abide by the Standards of Christian Conduct. (see attached)
