Director, AI We have an opportunity for a Director, AI to join our AI Pillar within the CIO organization, based in Santa Clara, CA (HQ), Tacoma, WA or US-based remote, reporting to the Senior Director, IT. In this pivotal role, you will own and drive the enterprise AI agenda for Infoblox, translating AI ambition into execution and delivering measurable improvements in how the company operates every day. Working at the intersection of AI advancements, enterprise technology strategy, operating model design and change leadership, you will define our AI north star, select and govern enterprise AI platforms (such as Copilot, Glean and LLM vendors) and embed AI safely, responsibly and at scale into real workflows across Sales, Finance, Support, HR and other business functions. You’ll help shape the future of enterprise technology at Infoblox by joining a collaborative, execution-oriented team that values practical innovation, continuous learning and provable business impact over hype.

Requirements

  • 10 plus years of progressive experience in enterprise technology roles in IT and/or consulting, leading AI, automation, data or architecture initiatives and delivering outcomes at scale.
  • 5 plus years in strategic technology leadership roles such as enterprise IT transformation, data and ML or AI initiatives, influencing cross-functional roadmaps and operating models.
  • Proven experience rolling out AI in internal business and IT contexts, including deploying GenAI and LLM platforms, enabling adoption and navigating vendor claims versus real capabilities.
  • Strong enterprise architecture and integration skills with the ability to design reusable, scalable AI solution patterns that integrate with SaaS platforms such as Salesforce, Oracle and ServiceNow and custom applications across a multi-cloud environment.
  • Ability to translate complex AI and ML concepts into clear business value, build credibility with senior stakeholders and manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience with AI governance, security and model lifecycle management, including responsible AI practices, risk mitigation, monitoring and clear human ownership of AI-driven work, including vendor-hosted solutions.
  • Deep cross-functional collaboration skills, comfortable operating across Infrastructure, Enterprise Apps, Data & Analytics, Security and Infosec, Legal, HR, Finance, Sales and Business Operations, and partnering with Engineering where appropriate.
  • Executive presence and strong communication skills with the ability to brief E-staff, represent the AI agenda autonomously and engage confidently with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Bias toward experimentation and learning with a demonstrated habit of staying current on GenAI, LLMs and agentic patterns, paired with the judgment to separate durable value from hype.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data or a related field or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the enterprise AI strategy and roadmap for Enterprise Business functions (AI for IT and AI for business), aligned with IT modernization, business transformation objectives and the executive vision
  • Translate AI strategy into an executable portfolio of initiatives, connecting use cases to business outcomes and sequencing work for maximum impact.
  • Define AI architecture and patterns, including where we use assistive AI, automation and agentic “digital employees,” ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, compliant and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Evaluate, select and operationalize and iterate on AI platforms and tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Glean, custom agents and third-party LLMs, partnering with Infrastructure, Enterprise Apps, Data & Analytics and Security to integrate them into a cloud-first environment
  • Design and guide deployment of AI-enabled solutions that improve functional business operations, IT development and operations, cybersecurity and service delivery across Sales, Finance, Support, HR and Business Operations
  • Establish practical, lightweight AI governance in conjunction with Legal, Infosec, HR and other stakeholders, including decision rights, responsible AI guidelines, risk and ethics guardrails and clear boundaries between human accountability and AI execution.
  • Create and refine intake, prioritization and operating rhythms for AI work, including a simple scoring on value and feasibility, regular demos of working AI and transparent scorecards for adoption and impact.
  • Partner deeply across the company including Business Operations, Sales, Finance, Support, HR, Legal, Infosec, Data & Analytics, Infrastructure and Enterprise Apps to shape high-value use cases and land change in real workflows.
  • Define and oversee the lifecycle for “digital employees” or agentic workflows, including design, deployment, monitoring, hand-off criteria and retirement.
  • Measure and communicate business outcomes and ROI for AI initiatives, defining success metrics and regularly briefing the executive stakeholders on progress, lessons learned and next investments.
  • Uplevel AI fluency across IT and the business by mentoring teams, contributing to enablement programs and helping leaders understand where AI is ready for production today and where it remains experimental.
