About The Position

Director, Business Development, Product Partnerships- Capital One Software (Remote) Ever since our first credit card customer in 1994, Capital One has recognized that technology and data can enable even large companies to be innovative and personalized. As one of the first large enterprises to go all-in on the public cloud, Capital One needed to build cloud and data management tools that didn’t exist in the marketplace to enable us to operate at scale in the cloud. In 2022, we publicly announced Capital One Software and have since brought two of our B2B software solutions to market; Slingshot and Databolt. We are seeking top tier talent to join our pioneering team and propel us towards our destination. You will be joining a team of innovative product, tech, and design leaders that tirelessly seek to question the status quo. As a Capital One Director, Business Development you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of building this business and bring these tools to market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in Software Sales
  • At least 1 year of experience in new product development

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building data security or data protection product partnerships from initial evaluation through execution and ongoing management
  • Experience negotiating partnership agreements involving data security, privacy, or regulatory considerations in collaboration with legal and compliance teams
  • Experience creating and supporting market expansion or new product initiatives
  • Experience working with tech and SI partners to deliver joint value to end customers
  • Demonstrated understanding of data security market
  • 3+ years of experience with CRM and other GTM tools (for example: Salesforce or Zoominfo)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to acquire new customers and design strategic partnerships for the data security product.
  • Identify, contact, and engage potential customers and partners, conduct thorough needs assessments, and tailor initial pitches to align with their specific requirements.
  • Lead the proposal process for prospective customers and partners, including negotiation strategies, pricing structures, and competitive benchmarking.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for new customers and strategic partners, overseeing account activities, resolving issues, and identifying cross-selling opportunities for the data security product.
  • Driving partnership discussions and contract negotiations with external partners
  • Track and report on the progress of customer acquisition and partnership development efforts, including lead management, pipeline growth, sales forecasting, and key performance metrics.
  • Conduct in-depth market and industry analyses to pinpoint new customer segments and potential strategic partnership opportunities for the data security product.
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Analysis, Infrastructure Development, and Operations Teams to create customized solutions and partnership packages tailored to the specific needs of new customers and partners, ensuring adherence to all obligations.
