Director, Business Development – Adult Residential

About The Position

PURPOSE: The Director of Business Development is tasked with 1) scaling the reach and impact of The Jewish Board’s Adult Residential Housing Programs by developing and executing strategic outreach initiatives, cultivating community and institutional partnerships, and supporting sustainable growth of Adult Residential Programs; 2) Coordinating between referral sources and programs to create efficient processes so that housing vacancies can be filled in an expeditious manner. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Senior Director is part of the Adult Residential leadership team. This position supervises a set of programs that provide critical services and support to residents of the Jewish Board’s supported housing programs in order to help residents live in the community as independently as possible.

Requirements

Deep knowledge of and experience with the operation of supportive housing programs serving the chronically mentally ill
Excellent track record as a supervisor, ability to motivate staff, build teams, and retain employees
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to understand and appreciate the broader issues of politics, funding, and reputation of the agency while retaining attention to detail
Interest in and understanding how to translate the challenges of the work into policy and advocacy agendas.
Competency in electronic health records; use of data to inform decisions, fluency in all MS 365 applications.
Strong problem-solving orientation, resourcefulness, resilience
Ability to travel to visit programs under supervision
LCSW, LMSW, or other clinical qualification preferred; MPA, MPH, or related degree will be considered.
At least five years of supervisory experience in supportive housing, residential services, or related
Familiarity with working in Windows environment
Ability to utilize Adaptive Budget Software, Excel, and other programs utilized by the Jewish Board as part of the budget process
Ability and willingness to learn new systems and application software
The visual and manual dexterity needed for this position include the ability to work on the computer typing reports and reviewing charts. There is also the need to speak frequently on the telephone including a cellular phone
Ability to travel in the community to visit facilities and scattered-site apartments under supervision
Ability to travel to Jewish Board HQ for meetings
Willingness to attend occasional out of town trainings, symposia, and conferences

Responsibilities

Ensures overall clinical, operational and fiscal oversight of assigned programs
Supervises Program Director(s) who have primary responsibility for programs
Assists programs in utilizing established, effective interventions to achieve defined, meaningful outcomes
Provides leadership and vision to assist programs in achieving goals; continually improving performance and meeting challenges proactively and effectively
Ensures that programmatic systems are in place to meet all client safety and service needs
Ensures that physical facilities/sites meet appropriate safety and aesthetic standards
Ensures appropriate training and supervision is provided to all staff; develops and provides training
Develops and implements new programs, projects and initiatives
Available and on-call 24/7 to assist in managing and responding to urgent situations and client crises
Provides vision and execution of service delivery that meets the emerging needs of adults in a shifting social service environment
Ensures service delivery and program operations are in compliance with regulatory requirements and standards
Ensures compliance with internal Jewish Board policies and procedures
Ensures development and adherence to program budgets and maintains programs’ fiscal viability
Collaborates with Program Directors and other Jewish Board programs/departments to solve problems/issues
Utilizes data to inform planning, service delivery and overall management
Represents the Agency and Division with external parties and participates in agency and external committees, initiatives and coalitions
Works collaboratively with Executive Program Director and other Agency leadership
Provides leadership and direction to staff including the development of talent
Ensures that quality of care and high clinical standards are met (as evidenced by independent program reviews, positive client outcomes and low numbers of adverse events)
Acts as a strong steward of agency resources as evidenced by programs meeting productivity and utilization goals as well as delivering financial results in line with budget
