About The Position

Ashley Global Retail, LLC has multiple openings for Director Business Intelligence in Tampa, FL. Collaborate directly with business teams to understand performance drivers and trends in their area; provide insights, make recommendations, and interpret new data and results. Proactively identify needs and provide guidance to the team to ensure needs are met. Coach, train and assist with designing a coherent framework for reports, dashboards, and analyses. Share and train best practices with the team as well as business partners and identify and clear impediments to the team’s progress. Keep up to date on best practices for business intelligence organizations and provide direction to ensure standardization and consistency of reporting. Ensure BI tools are fully leveraged to provide the insights needed to drive performance; interface closely with technology partners to manage analytical environment. Provide direction and recommendations to influence key cross-functional business partners in support of the Company’s strategic direction, optimal value creation and proper focus of resources. Oversee the use of statistical and data visualization packages to develop innovative approaches to complex business problems. Coach and evaluate appropriate analyses, such as cluster analysis, logistic/linear regression, collaborative filtering, and linear optimization. Given an array of tactical and strategic objectives. Analyze and communicate the effectiveness of new initiatives; draw insights and make performance improvement recommendations based upon the data sources. Ensure that appropriate data-driven reports and customer behavior insight continuously flow to management to help improve quality, reduce cost, enhance the guest experience, and deliver continued growth. Manage and oversee timelines, milestones, and internal details to ensure timely provision of all deliverables. Make employment decisions and/or recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, pay adjustments, etc. Coordinate and manage the work of employees by directing members of the team to meet the area’s goals. Audit regularly to ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered to. Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements to their performance through coaching, mentoring, and administering performance reviews. Recommend, plan and/or implement employee training and skill development activities and audit, maintain, and ensure employee time-keeping and absentee records are accurate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Applied Statistics, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field, and 8 years of experience in a business facing analytical role or related.
  • Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Applied Statistics, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field, and 5 years of experience in a business facing analytical role or related.
  • Data Analysis exploration and visualization using Excel and VBA, PowerBI or Tableau
  • Utilizing any version of SQL (Structured Query Language) and tools including SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) or other SQL Based Platforms
  • Utilizing statistical programming languages including R or Python to perform complex statistical analyses
  • Predictive and Prescriptive Modeling experience, including forecasting, multivariate regression, and ensemble techniques
  • Master Data and Data Governance experience in problem/resolution framing for disparate data systems
  • Preparing and delivering executive-level presentations that translate complex data into actionable strategies to senior business leaders and stakeholders to align on business objectives and collaborate across teams to drive data-backed decision-making
  • Leading a team of 4-10 direct and indirect reports, and interacting and working with global teams.
