About The Position

The Service Line Director co-manager for the Service line is responsible for the oversight of the program, under the direction of the Vice President. This position is an administrative position that functions within the operational and clinical aspects of the service line. This position is co-chaired by the Physician of the Service Line. Their responsibilities are as follows:

  • Experience in Healthcare Operating and Financial Analysis and Management
  • Experience in Strategic Planning and Plan Implementation
  • Healthcare and Leadership experience required
  • Exemplary communication skills

  • College degree preferred, key Self Regional Healthcare experience considered in lieu of college degree.

Responsibilities

  • LEADERSHIP: Assures staff is aware and holds staff accountable for strategic imperatives, organization goals, mission, vision, and current projects. Communicates effectively with patients and all levels of the organization in a professional, collaborative and timely manner. Develops and maintains policies and procedures as appropriate to role. Seeks out educational opportunities, stays current with trends, and implements appropriate changes within area of responsibility.
  • QUALITY: Recognized members of the team for quality outcomes Utilizes the Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle. Reviews, investigates and responds to complaints within the allowed time frame. Reviews, investigates and responds to unusual events within the allowed time frame. Remains current and proactive in all regulatory and accreditation standards across service line.
  • RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION: Participates in the development of recruitment and retention strategies. Effectively supervises employees. Participates in interviewing and candidate selection process. Develops and coordinates new employee orientation and on boarding program within the department. Creates and tracks training program within the department. Maintains documentation and follows corrective action process. Completes performance appraisal process per established policies. Ensures initial and ongoing competency of team.
  • SUPERVISION/OPERATIONS: Oversees the financial management and development of the Service Line. Oversees the contracts and supplies related to the supply chain management for Service Line Participates in market share analysis and discussions for Service Line. Develops and implements communication protocols to ensure adequate information flow within areas of responsibility. Consistently holds self and team members accountable to improve patient and operational outcomes. Maintains interface with Physician Co-Manager to coordinate clinical operational activities to ensure adequate staffing and efficient workflow. Acts as a patient and staff advocate. Ensures that patients have access to the providers and medical support in a timely manner.
  • CLINICAL: Collaborates with inpatient and outpatient directors to develop, plan and implement policies and procedures to support nursing and patient care services. Ensures compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations governing all licensed medical support staff and medical business operations. Ensures accreditation guidelines are met. Ensures safe environment of care for all staff, patients, and families.
  • PLANNING/BUDGETING: Reviews needs for Capital Budget while keeping efficiency and cost reduction in the forefront. Continually seeks ways to grow and expand service line. In collaboration with others in administrative leadership, develops operational plans for clinical areas. Communicates and continuously evaluates plans. Develops and reviews departmental scorecard. Continually strives to meet strategic goal by development of action items and plans for improvement. In collaboration with physician co-chair assumes responsibility for developing a clear proforma with ROI to support clinical, operational and efficiency initiatives
