About The Position

The Director of Common Platform Infrastructure (DCPI) leads strategy, planning and execution of common aircraft, business process and technology infrastructure across all Cirrus aircraft platforms. This position requires a high degree of interaction and communication with cross functional stakeholders.  The role drives strategy and execution alignment in partnership with the Aircraft Platform Directors, Platform Chief Engineers, Customer Experience Product Line Managers, Service Team Leaders and the Information Technology team. The DCPI must be able to manage multiple programs and projects simultaneously.  This role is responsible for driving, coordinating,  and measuring activities to obtain desired project or program results. The DCPI should be seen as the leader for the overall Common Infrastructure vision and execution.  This role will report directly to the Vice President of Platforms and Programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university, Master’s degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of complex program execution with a demonstrated track record of delivering strong return on investment results
  • Experience in complex technical product development and highly regulated industries is preferred
  • Ability to lead and develop complex, high quality business cases via collaboration with stakeholders
  • Demonstrated track record of turning early Technology product vision concepts into formal programs and eventual successful commercialization and/or significant operating cost savings Must have previous department leadership of direct reports

Responsibilities

  • Leads the strategy to design and execute common infrastructure across aircraft and non-aircraft infrastructure
  • Accountable for aligning cross functional leaders across the company to the common infrastructure vision, strategy, priorities and driving coordination in accordance with common architecture goals and timelines.
  • Drives transparency of common infrastructure program execution health through quantities execution/deliverable measurement week by week, month by month, quarter by quarter.
  • Responsible for delivering common infrastructure projects individually or as part of a program to the approved scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Coordinates facts and data for business plan and financial model, at Net Present Value targets that meet company ROI hurdles Maintains and communicates the common infrastructure roadmap to stakeholders
  • Facilitates new project proposals with appropriate stakeholders and drives decision making with appropriate business information from a cross-functional team.
  • Leads development and measurement against business plans objectives. Sponsors common infrastructure project and program decisions.
  • Leads and focuses on development and implement strategy, plans and tactics for current projects to achieve project and program deliverables.
  • Acts as the Sr. Leader bridge or “glue” between cross functional departments to ensure each function’s inputs/outputs and lead time requirements are built into project plans and their execution measured
  • Track and manage progress to plans and provide periodic reviews of how the plan is tracking actual/target to goals.
  • Articulates the priorities, goals and objectives of the programs to Executive Leadership and how it will impact the business at function/team level.
  • Excellent communicator with a patient yet high traction leadership styling.
  • Excellent facilitator to bring cross-functional team together to meet goals, resolve issues and conflict, and problem solve together.
  • Manages relationships and personalities with the ability to collaborate and maintain successful team member (and/or department) relationships.
  • Ensures the project(s) team is clear on roles and responsibilities to project plan, team, and communication needs and manages team performance to roles.
