The Director, Corporate Strategic Development will play a critical role in evaluating, structuring, and advancing strategic initiatives, investments, investor communications and partnerships. This position combines rigorous financial analysis, cross‑functional diligence, and senior‑level communication to support high‑impact corporate decisions.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in financial modeling and accounting.
  • Prior experience in sell‑side or buy‑side equity research or investment banking / private equity strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or Finance/Economics preferred.
  • Strong analytical rigor, business judgment, and ability to synthesize & communicate complex information for executive audiences.
  • Position requires understanding of Applied Materials global Standards of Business Conduct and compliance with these standards at all times. This includes demonstrating the highest level of ethical conduct reflecting Applied Materials' core values.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain integrated deal execution models, including sensitivity analyses and clearly articulated investment rationales to support project review and decision‑making.
  • Prepare senior decision‑maker–level materials that clearly communicate project‑level opportunities, risks, assumptions, and value drivers.
  • Partner with company‑wide cross‑functional teams (finance, legal, operations, technology, strategy) to incorporate comprehensive diligence into project value‑creation outcomes.
  • Provide analytical and research support to the Chief Economist, including data preparation and aggregation, macroeconomic and industry analysis, and development of presentation materials.
