The Director, Data Architecture & Platforms is a senior consulting leader responsible for designing and delivering modern data platforms and enterprise data architectures for Pioneer clients. This role helps organizations modernize their data ecosystems to support analytics, AI, and digital transformation initiatives. The Director works closely with client executives, technology leaders, and Pioneer consulting teams to define data strategies, architect scalable platforms, and guide implementation of modern analytics environments. This role will also contribute to the growth of Pioneer’s Data & Technology practice through solution development, delivery leadership, and client engagement.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, analytics platforms, or enterprise data strategy.
  • Experience designing modern data platforms, including data warehouses, lakehouses, and cloud analytics environments.
  • Strong knowledge of platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud data services.
  • Experience with data modeling, data integration, ETL/ELT pipelines, and enterprise data management frameworks.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-enabled data platforms and advanced analytics ecosystems.
  • Experience integrating enterprise applications and operational systems into modern data architectures.
  • Strong consulting skills including client engagement, solution architecture, and executive communication.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and deliver complex data and analytics programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture and design of modern enterprise data platforms supporting analytics, AI, and business intelligence.
  • Define enterprise data architecture strategies aligned to business and technology objectives.
  • Design data ingestion, integration, and transformation frameworks across enterprise systems.
  • Develop data models, governance frameworks, and trusted data assets that support scalable analytics.
  • Lead client workshops to define current-state architecture, future-state blueprints, and modernization roadmaps.
  • Guide delivery teams implementing data platforms, pipelines, and analytics solutions.
  • Partner with business and analytics stakeholders to enable advanced analytics and AI capabilities.
  • Mentor consulting team members including data engineers, analysts, and architects.
  • Contribute to Pioneer’s data consulting offerings, methodologies, and business development efforts.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to client technology leaders including CIOs, CTOs, and Chief Data Officers.
