The American Red Cross is currently seeking a Director, Data Integration & Infrastructure to support the Consumer Fundraising team. This is a virtual position, and it can be located anywhere in the United States. Where Your Career is a Force for Good! WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: The Consumer Fundraising team builds the foundation for optimal long-term donor value by developing strategies and programs that increase individual donor engagement, financial revenue, and fundraising capacity for the American Red Cross. The team focuses on marketing to individual donors via direct-response and digital channels to engage constituents and raise revenue to support the mission of the American Red Cross. The Director, Data Integration & Infrastructure, provides strategic leadership in the design, integration, and governance of fundraising core donor data systems that power fundraising operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the seamless flow of core donor data across platforms such as Salesforce, Adobe, CDI, and the enterprise Data Warehouse. The Director plays a critical role in shaping the future of fundraising by as a stakeholder in data architecture, advocating for data integrity, and enabling cross-channel engagement through accurate and accessible donor information. This position partners closely with internal stakeholders—including MODS, FP&O, channel owners, and technology teams—to build a cohesive and scalable data ecosystem. The Director also serves as a key advisor on AI integration, data governance, and infrastructure modernization, ensuring that donor preferences are honored and that data systems support both compliance and innovation. This is a highly collaborative role that bridges strategy, operations, and technology to advance the organization’s fundraising goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • 5 years of management experience.
  • Must have strong data management skills.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative style who builds trust among cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical skills to include word-processing, spreadsheet applications, and database applications when applicable.
  • Operational flexibility to meet sudden and unpredictable business needs.
  • May need to travel and participate in meetings and conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and develops methods and procedures for implementing data integration for Core donor programs.
  • Directs and coordinates program activities concerned with data implementation and integration.
  • Ensures consistent delivery of programs, data flow, quality, and integration with other programs within the organization.
  • Builds financially sound, executable, data-driven business strategies in support of the core donor program areas.
  • Develops data-based growth strategies for areas of responsibility.
  • Develops reporting and data requirements to ensure progress is being accomplished toward specified program objectives, and modifies methodologies as required, to obtain objectives.
  • Develops and implements short and long-term strategies to integrate data priorities into the overall Development business plan and manages the execution of those strategies.
  • Manages and evaluates indirect staff in the implementation of departmental policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Provides strategic leadership and oversight in the integration and management of core donor data across platforms, including Salesforce, Adobe, and the enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Advocates for the effective management and availability of comprehensive donor data across all fundraising infrastructure and channels.
  • Oversees the development and maintenance of data flows that support fundraising growth, ensuring scalability, flexibility, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Partners with MODS and FP&O to design a cohesive and strategic data flow that enables cross-functional decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborates with channel owners and omni-channel initiatives to ensure the intended donor audience is accurately included in outreach and engagement activities.
  • Ensures donor preferences—such as Do Not Contact (DNC), opt-outs, and other consent indicators—are consistently honored across all systems and communication channels.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on the flow of incoming donor data from third-party platforms, including ICRC and other external sources.
  • Advise CFR leadership on strategic decisions related to AI integration, with a focus on data integrity and management.
  • Identifies opportunities to responsibly leverage AI to enhance fundraising performance, personalization, and operational efficiency.
  • Supports the effective use of Co-op data across all fundraising channels, ensuring alignment with campaign strategies and audience segmentation.
  • Collaborates with technology, analytics, and business teams to ensure data integration efforts meet evolving organizational needs.
  • Leads CFR efforts and represents the department in the modernization of data infrastructure, including cloud migration, API development, and real-time data streaming.
  • Ensures the performance, security, and reliability of data systems that support fundraising operations.
