About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced procurement professional overseeing all aspects of data center services sourcing categories including network services infrastructure (e.g., Corporate Network, “CorpNet;” Dedicated Internet Access, “DIA,”/fiber infrastructure, bundled circuits/services, etc.), building automation, and indirect categories that enable data center builds/operations (e.g., software to support planning, sourcing, engineering, construction, and operations, third-party commissioning agents, and other data center service consultants) (the aforementioned collectively, “DC Services”). The successful candidate will work in collaboration with critical stakeholders (e.g., Network Engineering, TPMs, construction, engineering, operations, and Chief Information Officer, etc.) on all Request-For-Information / Quotation / Proposal (collectively “RFx”) process(s), in addition to participating in preparing, reviewing, negotiating, and executing contracts with various parties to include network service, SaaS, professional consultants, etc. They will bring deep knowledge of construction economics, commercial negotiations, and cost control within mission-critical or technically complex environments.

Requirements

  • Experience with:
  • Network service sourcing and contracting.
  • Contract Formation, Execution Management, and Administration including:
  • Creating/delivering contract execution plans, inclusive of contract formation, execution, and post-execution management/administration.
  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and executing contracts.
  • Managing contract renewals, amendments, extensions, terminations
  • Maintaining up-to-date records of all contracts and related documents.
  • Collaborating with legal, finance, construction, engineering, and supply chain teams to align contract terms with technical requirements, financial objectives, and legal protections.
  • Identifying and mitigating potential risks and liabilities associated with contracts.
  • Resolving any contract-related issues and/or disputes.
  • Data Center experience and/or mission critical infrastructure experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, economics, finance, construction management, legal studies including Contract Law, Business Law, and/or Supply Chain.
  • 7+ years of DC Services bidding, awarding, and contracting.
  • 7+ years of strategic sourcing/procurement experience.
  • 7+ years of data center experience or mission critical, fast-paced/large-scale infrastructure or data center projects.
  • 8+ years of commercial/transactional contracts management experience including awarding, drafting, negotiation, execution, and administration. Includes an applied understanding of commercial/contract language, engineering/network practices, risk management, supply chain, or similar contracts-related experience.

  • Advanced Degree in business administration, economics, construction management, legal studies, contract/business law, or engineering.
  • Start-up environment/mentality with a bias for execution.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management tools, data analytics, and advanced reporting.
  • Knowledge of supply chain sustainability/social responsibility
  • Proficiency in contract lifecycle management (CLM) capabilities (development of business requirements through active use).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing Network Services, evaluating commercial terms, and negotiating resulting agreements
  • Driving Substation Category prequalification, request-for-information/quotation/proposal (collectively "RFx") processes including standardization of forms to enable in-system sourcing. Developing scopes of work/services for network and DC Services in collaboration with design, engineering, construction, and other technical groups.
  • Preparing, reviewing, negotiating, and executing contracts with vendors.
  • Ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations and industry standards, managing contract-related issues, claim(s), and/or disputes.
