About The Position

The Director, Electrical Engineering, will be responsible for building and executing strategies within the electrical engineering function, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. This role requires a proven leader with extensive experience managing large engineering teams and complex technical projects, as well as the ability to interact with executive-level management. The Director will oversee the activities of the electrical engineering program, technical area, or multiple integrated teams, ensuring operational effectiveness, technical innovation, and value creation. Requirements

  • Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large teams and complex projects.
  • Upholds and models company values; ability to hold others accountable to values.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to build strategy; identify and implement the steps needed to execute strategy over a business area/function.
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
  • Experience leading and supporting organizational changes.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, industry standards, regulations, and emerging technologies.
  • An active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical Integration – spacecraft electrical architecture, ICDs, grounding/bonding
  • Avionics Engineering – electronics, flight computers, sensor interfaces
  • Power Systems Engineering – power generation, storage, regulation, distribution
  • Harness Engineering – cable routing, connectorization, harness design rules
  • Leads the design, development, and implementation of complex electrical systems while ensuring technical excellence and innovation.
  • Accountable for delivering projects on cost and on schedule, maintaining a consistent focus on value creation and quality assurance.
  • Drives a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in engineering processes and solutions, while overseeing the activities of the electrical engineering team or multiple integrated departments to ensure operational effectiveness and technical success.
  • Collaborating closely with senior management, the Director establishes strategic plans and objectives, translating organizational strategy into functional engineering plans and ensuring their successful implementation.
  • Provides leadership to engineering managers and teams, fostering professional development and alignment with business goals.
  • Manages engineering budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and ensures compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Acting as a key liaison with internal and external executive-level stakeholders, the Director represents the electrical engineering function in strategic discussions and decision-making processes.
