About The Position

Sault Tribe Incorporated (“STI Federal”) is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Director of Enterprise and Solutions Architecture to join our leadership team and shape the future of our enterprise technology environment! This role will support our external Technology requirements by leading the RFP process for prime and sub responses. At STI Federal, we drive growth through strategic government contracting, fulfilling our mission to support the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. Our company reinvests 100% of its profits into tribal businesses or community programs, enhancing the well-being of nearly 50,000 tribal citizens. Our work empowers federal agencies and strengthens some of the nation’s most critical initiatives, while fostering opportunities for skilled professionals to make a meaningful impact. As the Director of Enterprise and Solutions Architecture, you’ll play the lead role in governance-oriented solutions critical to win credibility and risk posture. You will establish approved architectures, platforms, and standards (cloud providers, security stacks, DevSecOps tools, data platforms, interoperability patterns, etc.). Translating customer mission needs into high-level constructs, while interfacing with CIO level stakeholders and C Level relationships with government. Additionally, you will champion STI Federal corporate Information Technology solutions, designing and executing STI Federal’s technology roadmap. The roadmap will bridge strategy and implementation across all corporate operations, to assess technology needs, modernize business systems, and implement scalable, secure, and efficient solutions that advance our mission and enhance the performance of our remote-first teams nationwide.

  • Demonstrated experience with Salesforce, Oracle, Microsoft and SAP. deployments and oversite of ML (machine learning) and AI (artificial intelligence) solutions.
  • Proven success as an innovative technology leader for solutioning Federal Government RFP responses-leader of technology discussions, technical subject matter expertise and strong technical leadership for architectural discussion and delivery.
  • Possesses excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into actionable technology initiatives.
  • Leads effectively without authority, building trust and influence across departments.

  • Excellent Verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible IT experience, including 5+ years in solution architecture and enterprise systems integration.
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) with demonstrated verified knowledge, skills, and experience in managing and protecting an organization’s people, property, information, and assets from risks and threats
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Architect (MCSA) with demonstrated experience in multi-cloud AWS/Azure/Google/IBM and Hybrid multi-cloud environments, architecting, deploying and maintaining.
  • Strong Leadership skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Information Systems, Business, or related discipline.
  • Experience working in small-to-midsize federal contracting environments, including Microsoft Government Community Cloud (GCC).
  • Experience supporting proposal development or technical solutioning in government contracting.

Responsibilities

  • Solutions Architecture for Federal pursuits – Drive near-term success and long-term mission credibility by leading enterprise solution architecture for priority federal pursuits today, while shaping forward-looking architectures that anticipate agency modernization roadmaps over the next five years.
  • Institutionalize governed, future-ready architectures - Establish and enforce enterprise standards, reference architectures, and approved technology stacks (cloud, security, DevSecOps, data, interoperability) that reduce proposal risk today and enable scalable delivery across future federal programs.
  • Elevate DoD cybersecurity compliance - Govern enterprise and solution architectures aligned to CMMC and NIST 800-171 requirements, embedding compliant security patterns into proposals today while maturing scalable, audit-ready frameworks that support evolving DoD cybersecurity mandates over the next five years to ensure contract readiness.
  • Strengthen FedRAMP authorization readiness and risk posture - Establish and enforce approved cloud architectures, security stacks, and shared-responsibility models that meet FedRAMP Moderate/High requirements. Accelerate compliant bid solutions now and enabling repeatable Authority to Operate (ATO) pathways across future federal programs.
  • Drive Enterprise Technology Strategy – Develop and provide strategic oversight and guidance to implement an integrated corporate IT roadmap to align with corporate goals, enhances system performance, optimizes Microsoft ecosystem utilization, and enables future scalability. Thus, ensuring expected gaps are identified in targeted architecture with recommended course of action.
