About The Position

Director, Finance Analytics, AI & Automation Description - We are seeking a senior leader to oversee a Finance Analytics, AI, and Automation organization within Finance Transformation & Strategic Enablement. This role is instrumental in setting the strategy, building the roadmap, and leading delivery of data, analytics, AI, and automation solutions that improve finance decision-making, process performance, control, and productivity across HP. The Director will lead a multidisciplinary technical organization spanning analytics, data science, automation, and solution architecture, while partnering closely with Finance leaders, business stakeholders, and enterprise technology teams. This role requires a strong blend of transformation leadership, technical depth, business acumen, and people leadership. Scope: Lead Finance Analytics, AI, and Automation initiatives across global Finance and cross-functional stakeholders Partner across Commercial Organization Finance, Controllership, Treasury, Business Unit Finance teams, EO Finance, and key business units Lead an organization of approximately 30–37 team members, including people managers, technical experts, and contingent workforce Drive enterprise-scale transformation through analytics, modern data platforms, AI, and intelligent automation

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience leading analytics, data, automation, or technology-enabled transformation teams in complex global organizations
  • Significant leadership experience building and scaling multidisciplinary teams across analytics, data science, automation, and technical delivery
  • Proven track record delivering enterprise solutions that drive measurable business outcomes
  • Strong experience partnering with senior executives and influencing cross-functional stakeholders in matrixed environments
  • Experience working in Finance, Finance Transformation, FP&A, Controllership, or other finance-adjacent environments with strong understanding of financial processes and decision support needs.
  • Technical and Functional Expertise Strong understanding of modern data architecture, including cloud-based data platforms, data lakes / lakehouse environments, data pipelines, and enterprise analytics ecosystems
  • Experience leading delivery of BI, advanced analytics, machine learning, and intelligent automation solutions at scale
  • Knowledge of AI / ML lifecycle management, production deployment, monitoring, and governance
  • Familiarity with modern tools and platforms used in analytics, visualization, data engineering, and automation
  • Strong understanding of data governance, controls, privacy, security, and auditability in enterprise environments
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets and translating them into scalable analytical products and actionable insights

Responsibilities

  • Strategy and Transformation Leadership Define and lead the Finance analytics, AI, and automation strategy aligned to Finance transformation priorities and business value Build and manage a portfolio of high-impact initiatives across decision support, process optimization, forecasting, controls, and operational efficiency Translate business priorities into a clear roadmap with measurable outcomes, delivery milestones, and adoption plans Serve as a strategic advisor to Finance leadership on where data, AI, and automation can create meaningful value.
  • Analytics, AI, and Automation Delivery Lead the design, development, and scaling of advanced analytics, business intelligence, AI, machine learning, and automation solutions for Finance delivering scalable, and sustainable capabilities with high standards for solution quality, usability, reliability, and business adoption Drive use-case prioritization, value sizing, solution design, deployment, and benefits tracking.
  • Data and Architecture Leadership Partner with enterprise data and technology teams to shape modern Finance data architecture across cloud platforms, data lakes / lakehouse environments, and enterprise BI ecosystems Ensure strong integration of structured and unstructured data from internal and external sources Drive scalable data pipelines, semantic models, and reusable data products that enable consistent reporting and analytics
  • Business Partnership and Value Realization Partner with senior Finance and business leaders to identify opportunities, define requirements, and deliver analytically rigorous and pragmatic solutions Translate complex technical concepts into clear business insights, recommendations, and executive narratives Track and communicate business impact, including productivity gains, cycle time reduction, improved insight quality, better forecast accuracy, stronger controls, and cost savings Influence decisions across functions and align stakeholders around priorities, tradeoffs, and outcomes
  • Governance, Risk, and Controls Ensure analytics, AI, and automation solutions are designed with appropriate governance, transparency, control, and auditability, including establishing processes for model oversight, data quality, access controls, solution monitoring, and lifecycle management Operate effectively within finance, accounting, SOX, legal, privacy, and data governance requirements Promote responsible and practical use of AI within a controlled Finance environment
  • Team Leadership and Organizational Capability Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of managers and technical professionals across analytics, data science, automation, and architecture Build strong operating rhythm, delivery discipline, talent development, and succession plans Attract, retain, and grow technical talent with a strong culture of accountability, learning, innovation, and business partnership Foster a results-oriented environment that balances speed, quality, control, and long-term scalability
