The Director of the Full-time MBA (FT MBA) provides academic and operational leadership for the full-time MBA portfolio – both traditional and accelerated formats. Reporting to the Executive Director of MBA Programs, this role serves as a primary face of the FT MBA, leading a professional team and partnering with faculty, administrators, and external stakeholders to ensure excellence in program delivery, student experience, and market positioning. The Director oversees the FT MBA portfolio, including 320+ enrolled students annually and a comprehensive operating budget supporting academic and co-curricular program delivery. This leadership role requires proactive engagement with faculty, students, alumni, and institutional partners to advance the Tepper School’s reputation as a leader in MBA education. Core responsibilities include: Program Operations & Student Experience Oversees the operational execution of all FT MBA activities including Basecamp (orientation), 45+ student clubs and organizations, on-campus classes and events, and co-curricular programming. Anticipates and addresses program management issues (operational and academic) as they arise, ensuring seamless student experiences. Monitors and assesses student feedback, academic performance, and co-curricular engagement to drive improvements. Advises students on academic policies, progress, and general concerns as needed. Oversee on-campus course delivery including classrooms and break-out rooms scheduling, technology upgrades, and issue resolution in cooperation with the Tepper Technology team. Leads the creation of the academic calendar; manages distribution. Monitor vendor partnerships at a high-level to support the FT MBA team and maximize negotiating power. Carries a limited advising portfolio (5 - 10%). Leadership & Program Direction In collaboration with the Executive Director (ED) of MBA Programs, develops and executes the annual operating plan for the FT MBA portfolio (FT MBA and Accelerated FT MBA). Supports outcomes related to admissions, student services, career development and leadership. In collaboration with the ED of MBA Programs, benchmarks and analyzes trends in FT MBA education to inform strategic planning and continuous improvement. Makes program recommendations to ED MBA that reflect market changes. Monitors and shares FT MBA program trends related to student experience, student feedback, co-curricular and curricular experiences to ED MBA. Develop strategies for improving FT program delivery. Academic & Faculty Engagement Partners with the ED MBA, Associate Dean, and faculty to ensure academic quality, innovation, and integrity in FT course delivery. Leads faculty communications - provides on-boarding to new faculty, answers questions, and resolves or escalates issues as needed. Leads Faculty Prep Website and/or resources for onboarding, mini communications, and annual course design support. In coordination with the ED MBA, manages and optimizes the course schedule to support accurate enrollment forecasting, elective section planning, and faculty scheduling. Oversees elective planning to optimize student learning paths and resource allocation. Chairs or co-chairs FT MBA curriculum or advisory committees as appropriate. External Representation and Partnerships Serves as an external representative of the FT MBA program, as needed, at FT MBA conferences, alumni events, corporate visits, and professional gatherings. Supports the development of partnerships with alumni, employers, and peer institutions to enhance the reputation and reach of the FT MBA program. In collaboration with ED MBA, supports Marketing and Admissions to strengthen recruitment, branding, and FT MBA rankings strategy. Provides strategic input for marketing materials, website content, and program storytelling. Budget & Resource Management Assists the ED MBA with the development, management, and forecasting of a large, multi-faceted FT MBA operating budget in coordination with the Finance and Business Office. Oversees vendor partnerships and contracts to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Team Leadership & Development Supervises and mentors a team of 3+ staff members supporting FT MBA operations and student success. Fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the FT MBA team. Provides professional development and training opportunities to ensure staff growth and retention. Cross-Program & Institutional Collaboration Collaborates with the Director of Online Hybrid MBA to ensure consistency in policy, student services, and operational efficiency in MBA programs. Supports in-person events for other MBA and Master’s programs as needed to promote cross-program integration. In cooperation with the Dean’s office, support Commencement activities including graduation clearance, student communication and commencement ceremony and other programming.
