Position Summary The Director, General Manager – Service & Sales (North America) leads a regional services organization with full accountability for commercial performance, operational delivery, and customer outcomes. The role is responsible for driving revenue growth, profitability, and service excellence while navigating market dynamics and supply chain variability. This leader oversees field service, sales, and support functions, and partners across a matrixed organization to deliver integrated solutions to customers.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in services, commercial, or general management roles within a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Proven track record of delivering revenue growth and strong financial performance.
  • Experience managing large, distributed teams and multiple functional areas.
  • Strong financial acumen, including forecasting, budgeting, and performance management.
  • Experience building and maintaining executive-level customer relationships.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in product management, business development, or related field
  • Preferred Fields of Study: Engineering, Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams in a matrix organization
  • Demonstrated success in P&L management and business growth
  • Strategic planning and execution capabilities
  • Comprehensive understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscape
  • Experience developing and launching new products globally
  • Effective cross-functional team leadership and stakeholder management
  • Financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and pricing strategy
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships with customers and industry leaders
  • Experience with product lifecycle management and go-to-market strategy
  • Success in mentoring and developing teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and business intelligence tools
  • Ability to travel up to 30% globally
  • Analytical and decision-making capabilities in complex situations
  • Experience working in regulated industries preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a geographically distributed services organization, including direct and indirect reports across service, sales, and support functions.
  • Own regional revenue, margin, and EBITA performance; establish and execute plans to achieve financial and operational targets.
  • Develop and manage forecasts for revenue and costs; monitor performance metrics and adjust plans as needed to meet commitments.
  • Strengthen customer relationships through consistent engagement, service quality, and proactive issue resolution.
  • Drive commercial strategy, including portfolio evolution, sales effectiveness, pricing, and service offerings aligned to market needs.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment across product management, operations, supply chain, and commercial teams.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, digital enablement, and automation to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
  • Build and develop high-performing teams through clear expectations, coaching, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate strategic priorities clearly and align teams to shared goals.
  • Lead through change in a complex, matrixed environment.
